At InPost, we are looking for an exceptional Nights Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join our team and help drive operational excellence in our parcel sortation operations. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, optimising mechanical sortation processes, and leading a talented team towards achieving outstanding results.

📍 Location: Unit D, 15 LarkfieldTtrading Estate, New Hythe lane, Maidstone, ME206SW
📅 Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday
🕒 Hours: 12.30am to 9:00am
💰 Salary: up to £36,000 per annum depending on experience
About the role:
This role is suited to an experienced, empathetic people leader who would like to progress their logistics career in a fast paced, industry leading company.
What you'll be doing:
People Leadership:
• Assist in the planning and forecasting of staff requirements including rota management and annual leave planning
• Provide induction and on the job training to all staff and delivery contractors to ensure they are able to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently and safely and provide direction where necessary
• Complete company disciplinary procedures where required and appropriate to position
• Ensure that all Return-to-work interviews (RTW) are completed at the start of each shift and before employees return to their designated duties.
• Manage absence and lateness in accordance with Company procedure
• Ensure all payroll paperwork is passed to the relevant department to ensure pay is correct including sickness, certificates, holiday forms, etc
• Hold team briefings with warehouse staff to communicate Company policies and procedures, Health & Safety matters and any other business information in a positive manner
• Support management on employee issues
Health & Safety:
• Ensure all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety Training in order to carry out their role safely.
• Ensure the warehouse and loading areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times to comply with Company Policy and Health & Safety Regulations.
• Highlight to management any risk assessments required for staff i.e. returning from absence, maternity risk assessments, or any new tasks/machinery requiring staff to undergo further training.
Process Management:
• Manage and motivate the team to meet customer timescales and improved productivity.
• Ensure quality standards and productivity targets are met.
• Provide ‘Hand over Reports’ as required by management.
• Undertake any other tasks within the appropriate levels of responsibility or as directed by a member of the senior management team.
What we need from you:
• Experience of managing a shift, direct people leadership and resource planning skills
• Verbal and written communication at all levels
• Competent computer skills in the use of Microsoft office packages and in house programs
• A ‘Can Do’ attitude with the motivation to deliver goals and results through people and processes
• Ability to work to within timescales and to meet deadlines
• Problem solving
• Flexible in working across various shift patterns and teams, to cover a 7-day operation
• Team player, ready to help colleagues and consider the needs of the rest of the team
• Understanding of health and safety in a warehouse environment Essential skills (e.g. H&S, FLT, leadership experience)
• Driving licence
• Excellent time keeping and reliability
• Forklift license beneficial
