The InPost Newstrade division specialises in final-mile delivery for newspaper publishers and magazine distributors, covering 75% of the UK and Ireland with a 45% market share. Operating from 36 locations, it delivers almost 1bn newspapers, magazines, and collectibles to around 21,000 customers. The division includes core final-mile operations, magazine primary distribution, corporate distribution, outsourced retail consultancy, and airside media placement.

About the role:
InPost Newstrade is looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Maidstone. As a fast-growing, innovative company, we are continuously evolving and we’re seeking someone who not only wants to be part of that growth but can actively drive it forward.

📅 Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday
🕒 Hours: Tuesday - Friday 07:00am - 16:15pm / Saturday 07:30am - 14:15pm
💰 Salary: up to £46,0000 package and meaningful benefits including life assurance
What you’ll be doing:
You will be responsible for driving the performance of our operations by overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly activities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and excellence at every stage. You will provide inspiring leadership, motivating and developing your team through training, guidance, and support, while ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met or exceeded. The role requires the ability to manage remote teams effectively and to engage with customers on a daily basis, building strong relationships and delivering outstanding service.
Operations Manager Duties:
Oversee the day-to-day picking, processing, and distribution operations of magazines for over 5,000 retailers, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
Lead, manage, and support the operational team, providing coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to maximize performance.
Monitor operational performance against contract KPIs and implement improvements to consistently exceed customer expectations.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external customers to ensure smooth operational workflows.
Ensure full compliance with all operational policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements, regulatory standards, and company guidelines.
Assist the General Manager in achieving operational targets and maintaining high standards across the operation.
Plan, coordinate, and conduct regular performance reviews, identifying training needs and arranging development programs for operational staff.
Manage and optimize the allocation and use of driver and vehicle resources to maintain efficiency and meet delivery schedules.
Oversee site housekeeping, maintenance, and operational facilities to uphold health and safety and operational standards.
Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Occasionally travel across the UK to support operations, liaise with key customers, and strengthen operational relationships.
What we need from you:
Proven experience in managing warehouse, distribution, or operational teams, ideally in fast-moving or magazine distribution environments.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and support staff to achieve high performance.
Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
Clear understanding of operational compliance, including health and safety regulations, and the ability to maintain high standards across the site.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
Experience in resource management, including optimising driver and vehicle utilisation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise across all levels of the business.
Flexibility and willingness to travel across the UK as required.
